The Beauty of Streaming

Oh winter! The joy of freezing your bottom off AND getting sick, really, really, sick. There are so many things floating around, and I’ve been oh so careful.

As someone who has worked at home for most of my adult life, it’s rare to be exposed to anything. But one does need to venture out of the home office now and again. It wasn’t COVID, the Flu or RSV that took me down, just a plain ol’ virus. I’m usually good after a day or two and hardly see the doctor, minus the yearly checkups. But when you know, you know.

When the doc says, “your lungs are clear” and all your vital signs are normal, but you feel like death, what do you do? Climb into bed with your laptop on your breakfast tray and binge. Not food, romantic non-sense on whatever streaming service you have the luxury of enjoying. So, this week it was “Younger” on Netflix. I’m not trying to sell you the cute factor, I mean I get nothing from sharing, but ya gotta see this one!

I never want to believe in employment discrimination based on age or sex, but I’ve definitely been discriminated against on the job myself, so you better believe, a 40 something who can’t get arrested in the publishing industry finally landing her dream job happens because she had to lie and say she’s 26 instead.

Meh, why do we need to tell anyone our age when we are applying for work? Isn’t that illegal? But then again, do we have laws here anymore? Inquiring minds want to know.
