Sometimes You Just Have to Cleanse
Every fall and spring, I cleanse. Yeah ya, too much info. But I don’t go for any of those starve yourself so you get skinny cleanses, I go for the slough off winter (too much eating) and fall (too much having fun over summer ;)) to get back to a clear mind.
Don’t you find that if you’re not eating or drinking exactly what your body needs, you lack energy? It happens! As a yoga teacher, and someone who’s struggled with some really rare and bizarre medical issues, I try to stay super healthy, eat a vegan diet, don’t really drink and exercise regularly. But there are of course those days when I have some things I probably shouldn’t and my body let’s me know.
Right now I am in the middle of the Colorado Cleanse, I can eat as much as I want, but it’s the same thing for 7 days. If you think about it, what could be more simple? You don’t have to consider what to make or what to go out and get, it’s already pretty much well thought out for you. But, NO COFFEE! Yeesh!
So all of this gives me the time to meet myself, raw and ready for some serious peeling. It also happens to be a great time for new ventures, new relationships and new ideas. My mind wanders, so this is a time to try and focus, but that generally takes until about Day 5 when I start to get so bored with food, I have to do the deeper personal work.
Happy to report on Day 3, I’m still enjoying the meals, but missing my coffee! I have two new clients and another opportunity that’s being pursued as I write this. I’m filling in for 2 anchor shifts and doing 2 of my own and I’m pretty sure my mind is starting to clear the clouds, but I’ll get back to you after Day 7 🙂
What do YOU do to clear your head?
