Scorn

If you’ve been on any dating apps, you’ve likely been ghosted (read: shunned).

I’ve written before about being ghosted in the professional sense, by would-be clients seemingly interested in your product/merch, but they just never “pull the trigger”. That’s completely ok, of course. I mean, if you can’t pay for said merch, or you don’t want to, you find it cheaper, or better elsewhere, why not share that? It’s the professional thing to do. I’m an adult ya all, I can totally handle it!

But what about when someone comes along, buys in for your service or merchandise, but then they don’t pay? What recourse do you have? Do you really want to go to collections, small claims court or worse, totally write the expense off?

I have found honesty is always the best policy. I like feedback, in fact, I relish it. I like learning, I want to be educated. I mean, how else do we grow and expand as humans, if we never know what mistake we made, or if someone just has a distaste for what you are offering.

To be ghosted in human relations is hurtful at best, and devastating — if you were told something that turns out to be a fabrication.

Us small business owners need to stick together!

When have you been “Blown off”?
