Ghosting, It’s a Thing

Ghosting, It’s a Thing

It’s not just for dating either, it’s all over the place. Why should I answer you when the options are endless?

If you’ve ever been on a dating app, you know this to be true. The person you “match” with has a chat or two with you, or maybe they don’t even ever talk to you, they just sit there looking at you. That face, in their profile picture, it’s just there. And how long do you wait until you hit delete?

It’s an entirely different thing in business. You have a chat with someone, explain or sell what it is you have to sell or explain, they say yes, let’s do it. And just like that, boom, #byefelipe. You never hear from them again. So unprofessional!

I mean, it’s really okay to say, “let me think about it”, or “let me talk to my team” (even if you don’t have a team, I don’t know that.) But to just disappear. Why so rude?

Really, I’ve been at this a minute, and my feelings won’t be hurt if you go away, but please say goodbye. I have much better things to do with my time than on-boarding a nonexistent client or dating a ghost. We can even be Facebook friends after. Just step up.
